Performance as a Flood Defence - Dry
The first prototype Tilt-Dam was financed with a grant from the
Institution of Civil Engineers and was built in the Autumn of
2004. In December 2004 the dam was tested at the Building Research
Establishment (BRE) at Garston, Herts for practicality and performance.
A series of tests, by 2 man teams, gave speeds of less than 3
minutes to raise and secure a 3 metre long dam. From these tests
we state
“2 persons can secure a Tilt-Dam
Flood Defence
at the rate of a metre a minute”
